Whakamanahia Te Rangatahi

WHAKAMANAHIA TE RANGATAHI

"By rangatahi, for rangatahi.''

WHAT WE DO

Whakamanahia Te Rangatahi is Mīharo's annual Youth Mentoring programme, aimed at supporting Māori and Pasifika rangatahi in Years 11-13 to build their identity, language, and culture.

Rangatahi take part in workshops, wānanga and events focused on arts, culture and skill building, with the goal of becoming future leaders at Mīharo programme and events. Our rangatahi start the programme in March with a wānanga at a local marae, before taking part in a variety of events throughout the year, including the annual Murihiku Polyfest.

RANGATAHI MĀIA

Due to popular demand from rangatahi in our community, we have decided to welcome a new kaupapa to our 2024 Programme and Events- "Rangatahi Māia''

Rangatahi Māia is a weekly drop in session for rangatahi in the community to have a safe space to relax, complete homework, work on their mahi toi, borrow chromebooks, seek advice and much more.

Our kaimahi will be available during the drop in to support rangatahi, and if desired, connect them with other members of the community who may be able to help.

Rangatahi Māia runs weekly on Wednesdays from 3-5pm at Mīharo, 28 Don Street, Invercargill. More sessions can be arranged by emailing anjelina@miharo.org

We are here to tautoko and whakamana our rangatahi. If you or someone you know would like to take advantage of this opportunity, let us know!
